I Call Him Christopher
My Letters to "Chris" Matthews of Hardball

A Little Book of Biblical Proportions
by
Edward Eugene Baskett

ICallHimChristopher.jpg

"What you are about to read are the letters I have written to him over several years. Some are downright silly, some are blistering and outrageous, while others contain my thoughts on life and the experiences that go with it. All were written with the hope of making him laugh, and to encourage him not to take himself too seriously." - Edward Eugene Baskett.

Edward Eugene Baskett is a man with insightful vision and wit with a writing style all his own. In his second publishing endeavor, he introduces the world to his opinionated wit in I Call Him Christopher: My Letters to "Chris" Matthews of Hardball. In this book, Edward voices his concerns and opinions on topics ranging from the Michael Jackson molestation trial to President Bush's stand on political issues to Hardball's new time slot. His first book, ENTRAPPED, is to be found in virtually every major college and university in America, including Yale, Harvard, Brown, and Princeton Universities, for a total of 225 throughout America and Canada.

"This book is unpretentious and at the same time clever, funny, and
generally endearing. Granted, it is relatively light fare and be finished quite comfortably in one sitting (a very enjoyable sitting at that). The wit shines through beautifully, and all in all, I am happy to take great pleasure in that alone. Still, though I make to claim to truly knowing Mr. Baskett's intentions, I personally feel a surprising depth to these often satirical, occasionally poetic, and sometimes (dare I say) even tender missives. It is there, at least, for those that want, need, or like to find it. Baskett is a gifted social commentator, with a rather subtle touch. If you are compelled to take offense to anything he might dish out, then it seems you are meant to. But, in the end, one must remember that the whole work is written, it seems, in the spirit of humor and play. Baskett's style is unique in its playful and vigorous nature. To stop mincing words, the book is good people! I can only offer my opinion, of course, but my opinion is that you will not regret it." - The  Alchemy Review
