Bob Colonna (son of Jerry)
NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
Just when you thought the good old days of comedy would NEVER come back, here's a new revue that digs up just about every
piece of material anyone's ever laughed at. "Now, That's Funny!" mines, burlesque, vaudeville, Shakespeare, one-liners,
knock-knocks, poems, stories, classic comedy routines like "Who's On First" and "Slowly I Turned," even
Joe Miller's joke book (Lincoln's personal source for gags) and comes up with something to give everybody some good belly
laughs.
Directing the three-person show and on the stage himself will be Rhode Island veteran actor and director Bob Colonna.
He says, "Well, this is it. Finally a chance to do all the funny stuff I've ever enjoyed. It's like getting to sing all
your favorite songs in one night. And I'm really excited to have my friends Carl Ruggiero and Jan Mariani in
the cast. They are two terrific actors and very funny people. Rehearsals are tough because we keep cracking up over the
material, but we'll hold it together somehow."
"We're doing everything from formal poetry reading to knockabout slapstick. If you're wondering, it's basically PG,
a little racy once in a while, but definitely no bad words or anything." And what's comedy without rim shots? So drummer
Rob Mariani will be on hand to punctuate the fun.
